About Help Portrait
Each year, photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists all around the world will find people in need, take their picture, print their picture and then deliver it—free of charge.
Help-Portrait is about GIVING the pictures, not taking them. These portraits aren’t for a portfolio, website, or sale. It’s about giving people who otherwise couldn’t afford photography, a chance to capture a moment, a memory…and a whole lot more.

How does it work?
Help Portrait is a completely free event.
- Get Ready: We'll help you look your best. There will be makeup artists, hair stylists and a wardrobe section to make you look like a rockstar.
- Take Your Photo: Our photographers will direct you on how to pose in one of our studios. Feel like a celebrity and enjoy the ride!
- Get a Print: Give us a few minutes after we took your photo, and we'll give you an 8x10 print. We'll even have some frames (quantities limited)

Do I need to register before the event?
No. Everyone is welcome to come between 10 am and 2 pm—no need to register or have an appointment.
Can I bring my friends?
Yes, you can bring friends and family. The number of prints is limited, but we can give you a few extra photos online.
Is there any cost?
Absolutely not. Everything at Help Portrait is free. Photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists and many other volunteers are donating their time and talent for you.
How long does it take?
The time it takes depends on several factors: the number of people ahead of you when you arrive, if you are having hair and makeup done, the actual photo session and the print of your portrait.
