The 2025 CrossFit Open: Everything You Need to Know About the 2025 CrossFit Open — And Why You Should Register
Are you ready to test your fitness, challenge your limits, and join a community of athletes from every corner of the globe? The 2025 CrossFit Open is just around the corner, and whether you’re a seasoned competitor or someone stepping into the world of fitness for the first time, this is your chance to be part of something extraordinary.
The CrossFit Open is the largest fitness competition in the world and a key part of the CrossFit Games season. It’s a three-week online event where athletes from every skill level (brand new to elite athletes) and background come together to complete a series of workouts designed to test strength, endurance, skill, and resilience.
Starting in February 2025, athletes will tackle a new workout each week. You’ll submit your scores online, compare your performance with friends, gym mates, and the broader CrossFit community, and see how you stack up regionally and globally. But you don't have to be a top-level athlete to participate—the Open is for everyone.
Why it Matters:
Global Community: Tens of thousands of athletes participate each year, creating a sense of connection and camaraderie across all fitness levels.
Personal Growth: The Open is not just a competition; it's a journey of self-discovery and improvement. Many athletes find themselves achieving new personal records (PRs) and surprising themselves with what they're capable of.
Inclusive Competition: The Open offers divisions for different age groups, adaptive athletes, and skill levels, including RX (prescribed), scaled, and foundations versions of each workout.
How is the CrossFit Open Structured?
The 2025 CrossFit Open consists of three workouts over three weeks. It's going to look a little different in 2025! Here’s a breakdown of how it works:
Weekly Workout Announcements: Each week, CrossFit HQ releases a new workout.
Complete the Workout: Participants have several days to complete the workout at their affiliate gym or home and submit their scores online. We will complete our workouts together as a community February 27th, March 7th and March 14th.
Score Submission: All scores must be verified by a judge or submitted via video for review.
Leaderboard: Track your progress on the worldwide leaderboard to see how you stack up against others in your division and around the world.

New in 2025: All athletes who complete the Open and submit scores for all workouts will be able to continue their season in their affiliate with a new competition — the Community Cup!
The Community Cup will be a unique format for our local athletes to compete against their peers based on their level earned during the Open.

Tips for First-Time Participants

Get ready to tackle each workout head-on!
What makes the Open at CrossFit Indiana different?
We'll have 3 teams and 3 team captains.
Every athlete will be drafted onto a team regardless of your registration status.
